Salesforce is a customer relationship management (CRM) platform that provides tools for managing business processes: sales, customer service, marketing automation, etc. Many companies use Salesforce to automate their marketing and sales pipelines.

With Pecan’s Salesforce connector, you can bring your business data from Salesforce into the platform and use it to train predictive models and generate predictions with existing models. You can also set it up to allow Pecan to write predictions back to Salesforce - click here for details.

How to configure a Salesforce connection in Pecan

  1. Once you're logged into Pecan, select the “Connections” tab, and click Add connection.

  2. Select “Salesforce” and complete the following fields:

3. Fill the fields:

  • Connection name
This is how you’ll identify the connection when creating and working with models on the platform.

    • Names should be unique, reflecting the data source and what’s stored in it.

    • Valid characters include letters, numbers and underscores (e.g. paid_downloads_fall_2023 ).

    • Note that connection names can’t be changed once created.

  • Connection type
Select "Incoming data" if the connection will be used to import data into Pecan. Select "Outgoing predictions" if it will be used to export predictions from Pecan to Salesforce.

  • Instance
This is the address of your Salesforce domain (e.g. my-company.salesforce.com).

  • Username and Password of a valid Salesforce user.

  • Token - a personal access token. The token can be obtained using these instructions.

4. Now, click Test connection to make sure everything is working correctly. Then click Create connection to complete the setup.

That's it!
